Tokyo Video Panorama

This image was constructed from a 10 minute long video shot from a moving bus window using a Panasonic Lumix FT2. Over 18,000 frames were separated, cropped, scaled and recombined to form a long strip before being postprocessed. The result captures a city vista with overpasses, buildings and traffic, whilst the uneven combination of a moving image lends itself to the erratic nature of the cityscape. The image, over 16,000 x 7,000 pixels in size, was built entirely using open source software (ffmpeg, imagemagick, gimp) and some scripts.
